Vivah Muhurat 2026: November and December Wedding Dates

Quick answer: Vivah muhurat 2026 dates for the rest of the year are 21, 24, 25 and 26 November, and 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12 December, as listed by Drik Panchang for New Delhi. Prokerala also lists six of these. Weddings then pause until Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2027.

If you are planning a wedding this season, you have a short list to work with, and it closes quickly. Date lists online don’t always match. This one shows you where panchangs agree and where they don’t, so you can walk into the conversation with your family priest better prepared.

We have also added the step many families leave too late: a kundli milan checklist to finish before you pay a venue advance.

Vivah muhurat 2026: all dates for November and December

These 11 dates appear on both Drik Panchang (New Delhi) and Astroyogi. The fourth column shows whether Prokerala lists the same date. All were checked on 5 November 2026 and are for India (IST).

Date Day Nakshatra (Drik Panchang) Also on Prokerala? Planning note
21 Nov Sat Revati No Weekend. Day after Dev Uthani Ekadashi, and Tulsi Vivah in many calendars.
24 Nov Tue Rohini No Window opens only late at night.
25 Nov Wed Rohini, Mrigashira Yes Longest window on Drik; from late afternoon on Prokerala.
26 Nov Thu Mrigashira Yes Daytime window that ends by early evening.
2 Dec Wed Uttara Phalguni Yes From late morning on Drik; only from night on Prokerala.
3 Dec Thu Uttara Phalguni, Hasta Yes A morning window, then another late at night.
4 Dec Fri Hasta Yes Morning only.
5 Dec Sat Swati No Weekend. From late morning through the night.
6 Dec Sun Swati No Very short early-morning window only.
11 Dec Fri Uttara Ashadha No Short window late in the night, before dawn.
12 Dec Sat Uttara Ashadha Yes Weekend. Long window on Drik; only before dawn on Prokerala.

Why we don’t print clock times here. Panchangs can differ by hours on the same date. On 2 December, for example, Drik’s window opens in the late morning and Prokerala’s opens only at night. Windows also shift from city to city. Get the exact window for your own city in the free VastuIQ Shubh Muhurat Calculator, then confirm it with your family priest.

Which date should you shortlist?

Start with what matters most to your family, then narrow it down:

  • You want the dates more calendars agree on: 25 and 26 November, and 2, 3, 4 and 12 December appear on all the panchangs we checked.
  • You need a weekend for guests who are travelling: Saturday 21 November, Saturday 5 December and Saturday 12 December. Of these, only 12 December is also on Prokerala’s list.
  • You want a daytime ceremony: look at 26 November and the morning windows on 3 and 4 December.
  • You follow a night-time pheras tradition: check 24 November, 5 December and the later window on 3 December.

A date appearing on more lists doesn’t make it luckier. It only means less disagreement to sort out. Your priest may also reject or add a date because of both kundlis, your region or your family’s custom.

Dates we left out, and why

Date Who lists it Why it isn’t in our table
20 Nov (Dev Uthani Ekadashi) Prokerala Drik Panchang marks the day as partly overlapping Chaturmas. Some families treat this Ekadashi as auspicious in itself, so ask your priest.
30 Nov One calendar we checked (Swarn Siddhi) Drik Panchang rejects it because of a prohibited yoga, and Prokerala doesn’t list it.

Why do wedding dates start only after 20 November?

Hindu weddings traditionally pause during Chaturmas, the four months when Lord Vishnu is said to be in yogic sleep. Chaturmas ends with Dev Uthani Ekadashi on Friday, 20 November 2026, and wedding dates open up after it. Calendars show the Ekadashi on 20 or 21 November depending on the place and tradition, which is why our Shubh Muhurat Calculator starts on 21 November.

Why do weddings stop after 12 December?

Two things close the season. On 13 to 15 December, Drik Panchang finds no suitable nakshatra. Then Dhanu Kharmas begins on 16 December, when the Sun enters Sagittarius, and it runs until Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2027.

So if none of these dates works, you are looking at mid-January or later. Calendars differ on the first date of 2027, so check your city in the Shubh Muhurat Calculator, which covers dates through December 2027.

Kundli milan checklist before you book a date

Muhurat and matching answer different questions. Matching looks at the two of you, and the muhurat looks at the day. Do the matching first, because a question that comes up late is much harder to handle once the venue is paid for.

Check What to look for Where to do it
Birth details Correct date, time and place for both. Enter the bride and groom in the right fields, because Gana is scored in one direction. Your birth records
Guna Milan score 18 out of 36 is the usual traditional minimum, and 25 or more is considered good. Marriage Compatibility Calculator
Nadi and Bhakoot Read these lines as well as the total. A high score can still contain a 0, and some doshas are classically cancelled. Same result screen
Manglik status Check both partners, including cancellations. Guna Milan doesn’t include this. Manglik Calculator (free; Complete Manglik Report ₹149)
Close calls A score just under 18, an uncancelled Nadi, or only one partner being Manglik. A qualified astrologer who can read both full charts
Date and window Shortlist two or three dates for your city, then ask your priest to choose. Shubh Muhurat Calculator

Not sure about your Manglik status? Our guide on how to check Manglik by date of birth walks you through it, and what Manglik dosha really means clears up the common myths. For the eight kootas in detail, read our Kundli Matching guide.

A low score doesn’t predict how a marriage will go. It means tradition asks you to look more closely. And if a worry about Nadi is really a worry about health or children, a pre-marriage medical check-up with a doctor will answer it far better than any chart.

A simple timeline if you are marrying this season

  1. This week: run the kundli match and the Manglik check for both partners.
  2. Next, if needed: talk to an astrologer about any close call. If your family chooses a remedy, see our guide to Manglik remedies.
  3. Then: shortlist two or three dates and pull the exact windows for your wedding city.
  4. Before paying any advance: get your priest’s confirmation of the date and the window, and check that the venue and the priest are both free.
  5. Tell guests early: with only 11 dates in this period, venues and priests may book up fast, so don’t leave it until the last week.

Do’s and don’ts when choosing a wedding date

Do Don’t
Check the window for the city where the wedding will happen Copy a time from a list made for another city
Match kundlis before paying a venue advance Leave the match until the invitations are printed
Keep a backup date in mind Build every plan around one date that only one calendar lists
Let your family priest make the final call Treat any website, including this one, as the last word
Check that the window suits your rituals, day or night Book a daytime venue for a date whose window opens at night
Outside India, confirm the date with a local priest Assume Indian timings apply in your time zone

Frequently asked questions

Is there any vivah muhurat 2026 date before Dev Uthani Ekadashi?

No date is listed in November before Dev Uthani Ekadashi, because Chaturmas is still running. Dev Uthani Ekadashi falls on Friday, 20 November 2026, and Drik Panchang’s first full wedding date is Saturday, 21 November. Prokerala also lists 20 November itself, so ask your family priest if you are considering that day.

Why are there no marriage dates after 12 December 2026?

Drik Panchang finds no suitable nakshatra on 13 to 15 December. Then Dhanu Kharmas begins on 16 December, when the Sun enters Sagittarius, and it runs until Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2027. Hindu weddings traditionally pause during this month.

When do wedding dates start again in 2027?

Dates return after Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2027. Calendars differ on the very first date. The VastuIQ Shubh Muhurat Calculator shows Thursday, 14 January as the first vivah date for New Delhi, with a night window. Check your own city in the tool before you plan around it.

Which is the best weekend date for a wedding in November or December 2026?

Saturday 21 November, Saturday 5 December and Saturday 12 December are the weekend dates. Only 12 December also appears on Prokerala’s list. Sunday 6 December has only a short early-morning window on Drik Panchang. No date is best for every family, so match it to both kundlis and your priest’s advice.

Why do different panchangs show different wedding dates?

Panchangs use different rules for which nakshatras, tithis and yogas to accept, and timings change with the city. That is why Drik Panchang lists 11 dates in this period and Prokerala’s list is shorter. Regional customs differ too, so your family priest’s calendar should have the final say.

Should kundli milan be done before fixing the muhurat?

Yes, in most families the kundli is matched first, because the date is chosen for the couple once the match is agreed. Check the Guna Milan score out of 36, the Nadi and Bhakoot lines, and the Manglik status of both partners, then pick a date.
